The annual gala challenge between Mid Calder and East Calder took place on Thursday 11th June at East Calder, where the Mid Calder kids won back the trophy with a 3-2 win overall. Matt Crosbie, the captain of the 2000 Colts lifted the cup on behalf of Mid Calder in front of a noisy and happy bunch. As ever, the tournament was close and played in the correct spirit and we look forward to successfully defending the cup when the two clubs lock horns again in 2010.
On Friday 12th June, the Mid Calder coaches took on the 1994s in a challenge match. Although a fairly strong coaches team won the match, the 94s did themselves proud and can look forward to exacting some revenge next year when they'll be bigger and stronger, while the coaches will be fatter and slower! |
