Mid Calder Colts Community Football Association are delighted to announce that the Club has been awarded Access Level Accreditation via the Community Club Accreditation Scheme run by West Lothian Council.

Mid Calder Colts CFA was established in 2003. The Club started out with a solitary team but has, in the short space of 6 years, grown to number 8 teams competing in the West Lothian 7 and 11-a-side leagues from U9s to U15s, giving over 100 local children the opportunity to train and play football. The Club has also recently introduced a Soccer School to help develop the next generation of Colts players.

The Community Club Accreditation Scheme recognises the important role that clubs such as Mid Calder Colts CFA play to increase participation and improve the quality of sporting opportunities for the benefit of the local community. The Club is supported by volunteer coaches, first aiders, committee members, drawn not only from parents but also from members of the community who just love the game of football and enjoy seeing the local children out playing their chosen sport.

Mid Calder Colts CFA is a OSCR registered charity (SC039437) and has active Management and Fundraising Committees who work on behalf of all the teams to ensure the continued progress and success of the Club to the benefit of all the player members. By awarding Access Level Accreditation, West Lothian Council have confirmed that the Club has demonstrated the appropriate levels of efficiency in terms of Child Protection, Good Coaching Practice, Club Management and First Aid.

We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all Club members for their support in gaining this first level Accreditation and look forward to moving on to Community Club Accreditation in the near future.

WELL DONE THE COLTS … THIS WAS A KEY GOAL FOR THE CLUB!

Stop Press: The Club is currently working with West Lothian Council, Local Councillors and community groups to ensure improved facilities for Mid Calder Community as a whole and are currently fund-raising in order to raise monies for the improvement of both the school and village parks. Both parks are in such a poor condition that we have been unable to play on them for the last 6-8 months, resulting in our teams having to find pitches outwith Mid Calder to play home games. If anyone would be interested in supporting the Club or, indeed, would like to make a donation, please go to our website at http://www.mid-calder-colts.org, click on the “contact us” link and one of our Committee members will get back to you … or just come along and support the teams on match days. Thank you!
