Cup final fever (OK, maybe a wee bit anticipation more like) has hit Mid Calder as not one, but two of the clubs teams have reached their respective league cup finals and are within touching distance of silverware - And who knows, maybe even a gala day lorry ride ;-)

 

Dates still have to finalised and when they are we will tweet these out to all who need to know. Please make the effort to go along support both teams when the finals take place.

Caledonian Tournament PDF Print E-mail

 

Mid Calder Colts have been invited to participate in the Caledonian Youth Club Football Festival 2010 which takes place over the weekends of Saturday, 5th, 6th and 12th, 13th of June at the Academy Park, Prestwick.

 

The Caledonian Youth Club are a well established and successful club and the invite gives Mid Calder a chance to play against teams from another region in what will be a challenging but worthwhile tournament.

2009/10 Kick Off PDF Print E-mail

 

The new season kicks off this weekend (August 22nd) for the Soccer Sevens, while the 11-a-side teams kicked off last weekend. The popularity of Mid Calder Colts Community Football Club has led to the club entering 9 teams into various leagues across the 7 and 11-a-side game.

 

If you add in the 2002s who will be joining the WLSS Soccer 4s programme, and the 2003s, who will be starting their training with the Soccer School, then you can see it's huge number of kids who have taken up the game, with the Mid Calder Colts.

A Bridge (not) too far PDF Print E-mail

 

miniThe 1999 Reds dragged themselves out of bed early on Sunday 27th September to embark on a sponsored walk over the Forth Road Bridge and back.

 

There were nerves aplenty in both parents and kids, but a favourable weather forecast meant the trip went ahead as planned and so at 10am we set off on the journey to Fife and back.

Marathon Effort PDF Print E-mail

 

The Mid Calder 2000's were the recipients of a generous donation totalling £200 and this was all thanks to a parent who put his body on line when he took part in (and completed) the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 31st May. The hot weather along with the theft of several thousand water bottles didn't help the runners, but our game parent made it all the way around and kindly donated his funds to the 2000's.

 

This money, along with a donation from Scotland Gas Networks has enabled the 2000's to purchase a new kit to worn on away days
